why do people count sheep when they aren’t tired or can’t sleep? why sheep? why not horse or dog?
Why sheep? Who knows, sheep are a big source of income in some places. Perhaps long ago they were the most commonly seen livestock animal around. Maybe some Shepperd made a comment about counting the sheep in order to sleep, because watching sheep was boring and tiresome. And he wanted to sleep while watching them. So why not use them to get some shut eye? The real question is what do sheep count when they can’t sleep.
