When can I recommence giving my baby infant panadol?

My baby has a virus and the doctor told us to give him infant panadol (paracetamol) to bring down his temperature and for any pain. The problem is that the panadol should only be given for a maximum of 48 hours and he has been sick longer than that. Is there a set number of days you have to wait before recommencing giving a baby infant panadol? He is 7.5 weeks.

Stop the panadol if he does not have a fever, other symptoms go away gradually. If he is still sick then take him back to the doc to check for any infection.
