If it is being installed for you, look to spend a minimum of 400.00.If you need a bypass module, look at about another 100.00 possibly.
If you plan on doing this by yourself, you can find plenty of units online that are under 200.00.
Word from the wise, if you dont understand vehicle electronics, dont try to do it yourself. And as a side remark, DEI does not make most of the alarms, they make a few different brands that are esentially the same unit in different boxes. Some may or may not have some extra programming features, but esentially they are the same. If you want a high quality unit installed, look at Clifford (dei unit), Viper (dei unit), Compustar (own company) Autopage (own company), Audiovox/Code-Alarm (same company). These are the most common HIGH QUALITY units on the market.
If you want to buy the SCYTEK, or ULTRASTART, these are cheaper units that seem to work okay for most people, but after 20+ years of doing installs(and yes i remember when remote starters first came out, and i was installing them then) i have seen my fair share of modules that went bad for no reason.
