Has anybody come up with a way to make Tickle Me Elmo quieter?
He’s such a loud toy but my son loves him so I don’t want to take him away. I’ve read that Elmo is actually so loud it can damage a child’s hearing. Just hoping another parent out there has come up with something creative, since apparently Fisher Price didn’t think Elmo needed a volume switch!
Okay, quieter without taking the batteries out. My son doesn’t really care about Elmo, so a $20 silent stuffed Elmo is not going to thrill him. Its the tickling that he likes.
We put packaging tape (clear tape) over most of our daughter’s toys that are really loud. She doesn’t know it is on there and if she is trying to take it off it takes a while and we will see her. It’s not a choking hazard and it makes a WORLD of difference. We have an Elmo and know what you mean. Her ball popper is very loud and the tape has worked wonders.
