Have you used the Graco My Ride 65 car seat?
I am in the market for a car seat for my daughter. She just turned 9 months. She is smaller (17lbs.) but her infant carrier is still getting really heavy for me to carry. I have heard really good things about this one but I just wanted to see what more people thought. Can’t ever get more advice. Currently we have a britax marathon for our other car but even though everyone says they love it… I don’t. I feel like it doesn’t snap the way it should and the cover is ALWAYS falling off! My cousin has one for her son as well, and the exact same thing is happening to her when she puts her little boy in. Very disappointed! I heard this one is just as good. What do you think, and how does it fit rear facing?Because I of course want to keep her rear facing as long as possible!
I have it for my 13 month old Godson. His mom doesn’t have a car, and although her main source of transportation is me, I have to take the car seat inside every night as she never knows when she’ll need a ride from somebody else.
Sometimes when I install in the part of the cover that snaps into the bottom comes loose, but it’s super easy to snap back in- I’ve never had a problem with the top or sides coming loose. I’m sure if you use it as a permanent installation you won’t have a problem with the bottom coming loose.
It fits fine in my 99 Cavalier- 4 door rear facing in the middle. I’ve never tried the sides because it’s easier to get it installed with just the lap belt- with the lap/shoulder belt on the side I have to use a locking clip which is a pain. I’ve helped install it in several other 4 door cars and have always been able to get it solidly installed in less than a minute- it’s really easy with the LATCH system to get it in good.
Keep in mind when you’re testing to see if the seat is in properly, you need to test for movement at the belt path. If you try moving it at the top of the seat, it will give a lot when properly installed.
